Position Description

Sierra Regional Spine has been in practice for twenty-five years.  We are a multiple disciplinary institute with surgeons, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Physical Therapy, pain management, and x-ray under one roof.

There is much to learn from our physicians who continue to volunteer as clinical professors for UNR’s family practice and Sports fellowship programs.

Sierra Regional Spine Institute is looking for two nurse practitioners.  One will work with James H Olson, MD in both clinic and orthopedic surgery (knees, hips, spine).

The other will work with Dr. REyher in pain management.

We are looking for  practitioners who are open to learning and working within a clinic environment and the OR.  The practitioner in ortho will learn to effectively and efficiently evaluate spine and general orthopedic patients, read imaging films, and assist in surgery. (the practitioner will need to obtain surgical assist certificate through the NIFA program and must be or become board certified within weeks of hire).

For the pain management position, the practitioner will work at first work with the supervising physician in training, then ultimately develop their own practice of patients. Compensation will be determined and expanded as this practice is expanded.

The positions can be part time or full time. We are willing to discuss flexible hours.  The pay is commensurate with experience and current Nevada wages.  There is a bonus structure in place for the APRN who is also a surgical assist.  We provide insurance benefits (including medical, dental, vision, Long term disability) for the employee working 30 or more hours per week.  There are no weekends or holidays to work.  If working full-time, we pay 8 holidays per year.  After one year, the employee is eligible to participate in our simple IRA retirement plan.  The employer will match the employee contribution up to 3% of the employee’s salary.

Further, we will reimburse the practitioner some or all fees for license renewal, mal practice premiums, and provide up to $1500 in CME reimbursement (after the first six months of employment). (reimbursement amounts depend on full time or part time status).

Anyone interested, please submit CV to Penny Forbes at Sierra Regional Spine either email or fax.
