NAPNA Board Positions and Opportunities for the New Year!!

Dear NAPNA members:

The Board is pleased to announce that it is Board election time! All current board positions will be expiring at the new year. If you are interested in a leadership position, please send a current CV and a letter of intent listing the position you are interested, what your goals are, and what your vision for the position will be. There is much great work to do and this will be an exciting upcoming interim period and legislative session! This is a chance for you to really make a difference in APRN practice with a great team!

President role – The NAPNA President is responsible with input from the board and membership to set and lead the legislative agenda at the state and local level. The President will be knowledgeable in writing and advancing health policy, will understand the political and regulatory process, will interface with the contract lobbyist and legislators/representatives, or will assign a representative.  The President will be knowledgeable about local, state, and federal issues affecting health care quality, cost, access, policy, and practice. The President with input from the board and membership is responsible for conceptually steering the organization to meet its’ goals.

Vice President role – The NAPNA Vice President is responsible for providing support to the President and other board members in meeting NAPNA’s goals. The Vice President should be knowledgeable in issues that affect APRN practice and will participate in promoting the APRN model of care. The Vice President will participate in projects with a team such as organizing CEU and educational events, attending meetings, educating members and key stakeholders.

Secretary role - The NAPNA Secretary will provide support to all board members in meeting NAPNA’s goals. The Secretary should be knowledgeable in issues that affect APRN practice and will participate in promoting the APRN model of care. The Secretary will participate in projects with a team such as organizing CEU and educational events, attending meetings, educating members and key stakeholders. The Secretary will also coordinate Board meetings and the preservation of minutes.

Treasurer role - The NAPNA Treasurer will provide support to all board members in meeting NAPNA’s goals. The Treasurer should be knowledgeable in issues that affect APRN practice and will participate in promoting the APRN model of care. The Treasurer will participate in projects with a team such as organizing CEU and educational events, attending meetings, educating members and key stakeholders. The Treasurer will also be responsible with the President for the banking, budgeting and finance issues for the organization.

All board positions are responsible for representing the members and working well together as a group. The entire board is also to advocate for NAPNA and promote membership, as a strong member base is essential to our success. Let’s assemble a great team to push forward and continue with our hard-earned successes! Please send CV and letter by December 15th to cpitlock@napna.net. The current board will review and vet all candidates and then forward to the membership.
