Nurses Day at the Legislature

Hello everyone-
On Thursday, February 23, members of your Executive Board, your Lobbyist Sarah Adler, and members of the Legislative Advocacy Team attended nurses day at the legislature. It was a wonderful event and nurses were well represented. I wanted to provide you all a few updates from this momentous day:
- SB 146 was heard. This bill will provide nurse midwives the ability to perform hospital admission assessments for their patients who are giving birth. I was able to testify in support of this bill, emphasizing that these assessments are within the scope of practice for APRNs and this will increase access to care.
- As of today, APRN Medicaid pay parity is included in the Governor's Proposed Budget! Our goal is to make sure it stays there. Please reach out to your legislator to advocate to support the budget... this is huge step forward for APRNs!!!
