Call for NAPNA Officer Nominations for the Positions of President, Vice-President and Secretary

Dear NAPNA Members:
We are pleased to announce that NAPNA officer elections are coming up and it is time to nominate candidates. This is a significant opportunity for us to choose leaders who will continue to guide and represent our profession with dedication and vision.
The open positions and position descriptions are as follows:
President:
- Member of the NAPNA Board of Directors and subject to Board supervision.
- Presides all Board of Director meetings and is the CEO of NAPNA.
- Has general charge of NAPNA affairs and sees that all orders and resolutions of the Board of Directors are carried out.
- Makes a full written report in respect to any designated matter in connection with NAPNA or its affairs when required by the Board of Directors.
- Executes and acknowledges on behalf of NAPNA all contracts, documents, checks, bond or other instruments authorized by the Board of Directors, except in cases where the signing and execution is delegated by the Board or NAPNA bylaws to some other officer or agent of NAPNA.
- Performs all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may from time to time be delated by the Board of Directors.
- It is helpful for the President to have flexibility in their schedule to meet with the lobbyist, legislators and other stakeholders, sometimes on short notice especially during the legislative session. There will likely be opportunities to provide testimony on behalf of NAPNA during the legislative session.
Vice-President:
- In the absence or incapacity of the President, or as ordered by the Board of Directors, perform the duties of the President, or such other duties or functions as may be given to him by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Secretary:
- Keeps a written record of all NAPNA officer meetings.
- Also ex officio Secretary of the Board of Directors.
- In general performs all duties incident to the office of Secretary, and have such powers and duties as may from time to time be delegated by the Board of Directors.
All officers report to the Board of Directors and serve at their leisure. There will be two officers in the north and two in the south. All are expected to hold and attend their respective monthly meetings as well as actively participate in the CEU event committee. The current Treasurer is in the south and the election for that position will be held in the last quarter of 2026. The positions are on a volunteer basis with no stipend or other compensation. Expenses such those incurred for the CEU event will be reimbursed.
Nomination Process
- Full members in good standing are eligible to nominate candidates and to be nominated.
- Candidates must be full members in good standing.
- Self-nomination is allowed.
- To submit a nomination or self-nomination, submit an email to nevadanapna@gmail.com by COB 10/31/2024. Tell us a little about the candidate, why that candidate will be a good choice for the position, how much time each week/month they are available for NAPNA responsibilities and meetings, and their vision to further NAPNA’s vision to improve healthcare access for all Nevadans.
Election details will be emailed out to full members in good standing in November. Your participation is crucial for the vitality and future of our association!
